Affiliate disclosure

Somebody has to pay for a website. This page explains how this one intends to, and what we will not do to earn it.

The arrangement

Some links on this site may be affiliate links. If you follow one and buy something, the shop may pay us a small commission for sending you.

You never pay more because of it. The commission comes out of the shop's margin, not out of your pocket. The price you see is the price you would have paid had you typed the shop's address in yourself.

Where this site stands today

This site is new. We are in the process of applying to affiliate programmes, and some applications may not be accepted. We are telling you about affiliate links now, in conditional terms, because we would rather over-disclose from the first day than quietly switch it on later.

We do not claim to be a partner, affiliate or approved publisher of any shop or brand that has not actually accepted us. When a relationship becomes real, this page will name it.

The rules we hold ourselves to

• Commission never decides what we recommend, or the order things appear in.
• Nothing is included because somebody paid for it to be included. We do not sell placement, sponsored posts or reviews.
• We do not write that something is good if we do not think it is.
• We have not tested, bought or personally used the products we write about, and we never pretend otherwise. Our guides are about how to choose well, not about products we have tried.
• We do not use coupon, cashback, incentive or reward schemes to push you through a link.
• We do not use pop-unders, forced redirects, misleading buttons or countdown timers.

What we are not responsible for

We are a publisher. We do not sell anything, hold stock, take payment, pack anything or deliver anything. Once you click through to a shop, everything that follows is between you and them: the final price, whether the item is in stock, payment, delivery, substitutions, refunds, returns and customer service.

Always check the shop's own cut-off times, delivery areas, prices and terms before you order. Ours are guidance. Theirs are binding.

Spotting the links

Every page that could carry affiliate links carries a disclosure on the page itself, and this notice sits in the footer of every page on the site. If you would rather not use our links, you are welcome to go to any shop directly. It costs you nothing either way, and the guidance on this site stays free to read.
