Who is behind this

This site is published by ZAIQ, a South African company based in Johannesburg, Gauteng. ZAIQ was founded by Adam Sacharowitz and Chad Alexander, and its own site is at zaiq.ai. Adam Sacharowitz runs this site and is the person responsible for what is published here. If something on this site is wrong, that responsibility has a name attached to it.

What this site is

The site is new. We say that plainly rather than dressing it up: there is no long history here, no big audience yet, and no track record to point at. What there is: original editorial guidance on gifting in South Africa, written for South African shoppers, in rand, and built around how delivery in this country actually works, including the parts, like December, that catch everyone out.

We write to help you decide what to give, what to spend, and how to get it where it needs to be on time.

What this site does not do

We do not sell anything. We hold no stock, take no payment, and handle no delivery and no returns. When you buy, you buy from a merchant, and the final price, availability, delivery, returns and service are always that merchant’s, never ours. Check their terms before you order. They are the terms that bind the sale.

How the site may earn money

Some links on this site may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy after clicking one, at no extra cost to you. Two things about that. It never changes what we recommend: nothing here is included, ranked or praised in exchange for payment. And where we have no experience of something, we do not invent any. What we publish is written from knowledge and judgement, and labelled honestly as exactly that.

The standard we hold ourselves to

Plain language, honest rand guidance, delivery reality included, and no manufactured enthusiasm. If a guide here is useful, use it. If something in one is wrong or out of date, we want to know, and you can reach the company through zaiq.ai.
